Busy, Busy, Busy!

I'm afraid that I'm too busy for my own good many times, but it sure is an adventure living on the edge of utter chaos! Let's see...Party last night and party Thursday, Weston's 3rd Birthday on Thursday (celebrating on Friday), and Christmas program for church on Sunday. And yes, I'm quite involved in every one of those activities! :/ So, what did I do with the pressure? I let the kiddos paint again!!??!! hee hee
Two good points from THIS experience.....Only 2 of the children painted and they painted out in the addition where the flooring can't really get hurt! Garratt is working on a pirate ship for his unit study on Adventures in the Sea and Sky and Linnaea got some cute horses to paint (and paint!) at the gift exchange last night. Of course, Shaeanne really wanted to paint something, but she humored me and watched a movie. Weston tried to paint when one of the paint pots were left unattended, but I can happily say that we had no spillage today! The table is set up where the sink and dishwasher will eventually be, so that is where we now "hang out" when we want to do projects after Daddy goes to bed.

Oh, yes -- if you squint, you can see the most recent (all 4 children) art project on the wall. We recited the poem, "Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater" (Atelier Art Program DVDs) while drawing pumpkins with WASHABLE markers and then going over it lightly with a wet paintbrush. That went quite well too (and was done in our new living room with a roll of paper towels at my side. :) I'll try to remember to take a close up of the pumpkins ....they're so cute!
The children and I have been reading a book during our "journal-time" called, "Child of the Promise" by Stormie Omartian. If you get a chance to read it, I would definitely give it a "thumbs up"....it is a great book for all ages and brings to life the characters of the events surrounding Jesus' birth. Last year, I wrote out the chapters like a reader's theater of sorts for our Bible Club children to read and they enjoyed it as well.

Time is flying past and pretty soon we'll be into the dreary days of January and February (and in Alaska, March too!) So, we are savoring each busy, exciting day together as we celebrate and enjoy spending time with friends and family!

We already celebrated Jesus' Birthday during the Feast of Tabernacles this fall, so celebrating it again is just icing on the cake! :) Enjoy the season, everyone and remember to tell someone that Jesus Loves Them!
