Go Palin!!

I just got the news about Governor Palin and the Vice Presidential nomination. Wow....what an opportunity for McCain to put the "Game On"! Since Palin became our Governor, we as Alaskans have enjoyed her stand for home schoolers, families, and helping us "common folk" make ends meet with energy rebates and the like. She came to a local event in Kenai last weekend and although there was no mention of her political possibilities, she eloquently thanked the industries in the area for their contributions. The day was called "Industry Appreciation Day" and being an annual event, we have made it a point to try to go as a family each year. The businesses in the area get together and give to the community with a party of sorts. The food is all free (hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, pop, kettlecorn, cotton candy, etc...) and there are booths set up with free stuff for people to take (pens, pencils, magnets, bubbles, stickers, candy, etc...). So, this year we decided we were going to check out what all of the activity at the stage area is all about (besides loud music). Well, Garratt's name was drawn to participate in a frozen t-shirt contest (try to thaw out and put your head through a frozen t-shirt before the others in your group) and Weston won a free bike (which he was able to trade for one that was more his size!) What a great day!! There were a lot of people there and we came home with lots of toy trinkets and stickers imprinted with names of political candidates, ways to vote on mining propositions, and places to go to tour the glaciers, a wet t-shirt, and new bike. What a blessing!!! Free family fun -- how cool!!

If only the weather could have been like today, huh? Sheesh! But we had a blast and loaded up on candy etc. too!

I think this lady may well be the ticket for McCain.
It is neat how you were able to do all that fun, free stuff!
God blesses in amazing ways doesn't He?
I am praying for your friend.
Love,
Bonnie
