What a Week!!!

Yep, this is my Dad hamming it up before his surgery!! Weston got a kick out of it and then "Poppy" even did a little bit of a soft-shoe dance in his funky slippers! What a way to lighten up the pre-op area! The nurses just got fidgety hoping that Dad wouldn't hurt himself, but they didn't strap him down or tranquilize him--so I'm figurin' they enjoyed the change of pace.

Weston actually did quite well waiting in the hospital all day. He watched a little bit of a DVD and ate tons of snacks and even took a nap! He was quite well behaved for a 2 1/2 year old.

The last picture is taken right before we left Anchorage on Thursday. We stayed in the temporary quarters on the Air Force base, so Weston loved watching all of the jets taking off and landing so close by. It reminded me of my childhood!

God is very good and Dad is recovering well! Thank you so very much for all of your prayers on our behalf!

I'll be driving Dad back to Anchorage tomorrow (Monday) for his follow-up appointment and to have a CT scan done. Mom is going to stay here with the kiddos and Don begins jury duty on Tuesday....no time to get bored here!!

Glad to hear all went well with your dad!!! We were praying that all would go amazingly for him, that they would get all the cancer!! Cancer stinks!! It's great that he does not have to do chemo or radiation!! God is good. Love you cuz!!
