Soccer

The girls are about half-way through their outdoor soccer adventure. It has been busy running to games and practices and making sure everyone gets out the door on time, but it has been fun so far! The girls have really surprised us with their abilities and how quickly they picked up skills. Both of them have enjoyed themselves and for their first taste of team sports, I think it will be a good one. There wasn't a team this year for Garratt's age group, but I'm actually relieved. Next year, the girls will be at ages that will make it possible to be on the same team. This year they are on different teams, but got the same color shirts. The hardest thing was on Thursday when they had to play at the same time at fields that were 4 or 5 fields away from each other. Garratt's going to probably do indoor soccer this winter, so that's something for him to look forward to and since these sports are only for 6 weeks through the Boys and Girls Club, they are doable for our family! We just have them pick 1 sport each year and then know that we're not running ragged all year long. I know many families that run crazy to keep their kiddos involved in tons of activities and sports, but this way keeps our schedule open for the normal ups and downs of family abilities.

Soccer! How fun! Congrats, girls--that includes you, Mama, it's a major feat to juggle schedules for so many. Limiting to one activity sounds like a great idea!

Your children are growing up fast!
The girls look like they are naturals at soccer--it's amazing the way they pick up something they've never done before. Congrats to your birthday girl!
Have fun!
Love and miss you,
Bonnie
