Weston's Busy Week!

Saturday night, Weston and I went to the Emergency Room to get an opinion on his tongue injury. My Aunt (who is visiting from Michigan) came with us, which made the time go by faster and helped keep my mind off of the possibility of my "baby" getting his tongue stitched up! Weston fell while trying to climb up the side of my leg (while I was seated) and bit a large hole into his tongue. Of course, there was blood everywhere and after taking a vote from the grown-ups in the room and hearing the "go ahead" from Daddy (and checking the internet to get some tips as to whether to go or stay), we headed off to the Emergency Room. A few things I learned were: cuts to the tongue usually only get stitches if they go to the edge of the tongue, a tea bag dipped in sugary water (when pressed onto the tongue) will give enough tanin to help the blood vessels constrict and cut the blood loss, and that Weston is an amazing boy! He didn't even whimper at the hospital. He bravely showed his tongue to any doctor or nurse that asked to see it, and very politely asked to go home when he got tired of waiting! Wow--what a sweetie!!

Weston also began swimming lessons today! His tongue is much better and he's back to his normal eating levels, so it was a good thing because he was really looking forward to swimming lessons. He really did a great job and is looking forward to going back tomorrow, so that is a good sign.
This train track picture is a picture of his favorite toy right now. He loves GeoTrax and so do his siblings! The track is technically Weston's, but he quite willingly shares so that someone will set up cool tracks like this one. He's going to get a couple more add-on sets this year for birthday and Christmas, so that'll be fun. Garratt has 2 broken dresser drawers, so needs to get those clothes up off the floor to make room for a bigger track! Daddy has been extremely busy getting the electrical wiring run in the addition and will probably fix dresser drawers when he needs a change of pace. ;)
