Boys and "Getting Away"

There's just something about "footy" jammies that look so adorable on children. The boys love their footed jammies and they are both in sizes that are hard to find these days! They're now set for this winter, so we're ready for the cold (in that area). Every day that we have 40 degrees and no rain or snow is a bonus at this point, so we're thankful that we've had more than normal for this time of year. We have heat in the addition now (just got it hooked up today!), so that will make it easier for the men to finish insulating and getting the electrical going. I'm excited about the possibility of going out there while Daddy sleeps in the evenings, so I'm thinking about putting a coat or two of varnish on the particle board floors to avoid splinters. It'll be fun to let the children be themselves and not have to be "shushing" them so much.


Last Friday, Dad had to go to Anchorage for his wrap-up appointment with the urologist and I got to tag along! All of his blood test levels showed no signs of cancer, so that was great to hear! Now, he'll transfer to a local doctor for check ups once or twice a year. Woo hoo!! It was so nice to go to Wal-mart and just hang out in Anchorage! It was a refreshing time for me to be away from the children and sort of "charge my batteries" so to speak. Being with the children 24/7 makes the "get-aways" even more enjoyable. As we were coming back, the sun and the mountains looked much better than this picture, but this at least gives you a little idea of the scenery! We praise the Lord for a safe trip and lots of good bargains...what a treat! :)
